Boot Bank Launch

Ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Rochdale we are launching our Boot Bank Collection programme. Supported by Oldham Athletic and the Community Trust, our first collection bin will be located in the Athletic Store.

Throughout the Summer months, we will be collecting pre-worn children's football boots, refurbishing them, and donating them to children whose family find it difficult to afford to buy a pair of boots. Currently 44% of children in Oldham are affected by poverty. We all know that, for some, putting food on the table has become a major challenge and buying a pair of football boots is an unaffordable luxury

A further collection bin will be located at the Dr Kershaw’s Furniture Hub on Shaw Road throughout the summer. Bins will also be located in a selection of Oldham schools.

So drop off any old boots that you no longer use and let's ensure that no child in Oldham is prevented from playing football, because of the cost of living crisis.

We have already had some great offers of help from our members and would welcome more help to make this a great success. If you are interested in volunteering, in whatever way, email BootBank@OASF.co.uk

Finally, if you haven’t already joined OASF, please do so at oasf.co.uk/become-a-member and help support us to deliver more initiatives like this.
